On January 18th Wikipedia, Google, and other websites began a protest against the SOPA and PIPA. Wikipedia did this by creating a blackout that will last 24 hours. SOPA is short for "Stop Online Piracy Act," while PIPA stands for "Protect IP Act." Both bills are meant to stop copyright violations. In my opinion I think there is a thin line here. A major point of the internet is to access free and open information. While copyrighting information is wrong I believe a compromise can be made to make internet use safer and easier.

POSTER DESIGN
To me, the four most important things to keep in mind when creating an advertisements who your audience is, what you are trying to sell, have a powerful message, and be able to grab the viewers attention.
I did number 16. LIFE'S TOO SHORT
I choose to do this one because this is a well known statement and the picture goes along with it very well. I think that it is creative how the ad shows people with bad jobs and how this can make one upset. I believe that it is very important that we love doing are jobs because it surrounds us.
PSA Presentation
I created my PSA video through these steps:
1. made a script
2. filmed video
3. edited the video using Adobe Premier Pro
4. added some music
5. uploaded it on to YouTube

PSA Intent
1. I will do a PSA that is serious that shows how education and early testing is key to HIV/AIDS and with these things can lead someone out of a life of darkness. I will incorporate animated text, a statement of intent, and voice overs.
2. Outline
2. Outline
- A person is sitting at the table with HIV/AIDS literature about testing, behaviors that risk transmission, disease information, and treatment options
- Hand people information
- Show those that accept a life of color
- Show those that refuse - blindfold
- Explain testing
- Education is key

PSA How To
The article "How to Write a Public Service Announcement" was filled with many tips some including: what is the goal, is it important enough, talk only about the results, and use real language. The article told the read to USE EMOTION to catch the viewer's eye. I learned that the beginning of the PSA it should ask the audience to help with the solution. Also, a PSA can ask for people to donate their time, money, or books; however, it should not be asking for all three. It is easier for the audience to remember one thing.
Discuss Look and Feel Issues
A The presentation will need to be compatible with the audience. If the target audience is adolescents and young adults then the format will need
to be informal and sensitive to the sexual overtones and comfort level. If the presentation is directed to adults, community leaders, or educators
then the presentation can be more formal and serious.
B. The basic color of HIV/AIDS is red so this should be the background color that ties all material together. The font should convey a business
or medical appropriate image. In that there is a lot of technical or scientific information that can possibly bog down the presentation there
should be a format for a general overview and then sections for additional, more detailed information that a person can refer to at a later point,
There will be graphs showing prevalence over time and within certain subgroups and global areas. Photographs should be included that include
all groups at risk of exposure as well as extensions of family, friends, and communities.
C. The goal is to decrease adolescents and young adults from engaging in risky behavior or to take protection if they decide to engage in certain
behaviors and
to seek early testing if exposure is suspected. The second part of the presentation is to persuade health
care groups and governmental groups to fund the testing, educational components, support groups, and medical treatment. The project will be
persuasive presenting the material in a non-judgmental fashion with facts to back up the tremendous cost in health and suffering of the individual
and their friends and family, the use of health care resources, the use of governmental resources for support, and the loss of productivity
in the workforce.
D. My point of view will be made clear through a simple presentation of facts and how outcomes can be altered if changes are made to current
educational format and the ease and availability of early testing.
E I plan to create a 3D prototype, a brochure, a PowerPoint, and a website for the major components of the presentation, There will also be
additional resource material on educational formats, community resources, and economic data available.

Begin Preliminary Identification of Presentation Capstone Elements
1. It is very important that the project be organized and managed properly so that the presentation will be successful
2. i. My Capstone project will include a constructed prop and published material, in addition to the electronic and video components
ii. Poster material will be presented on an easel or on a trifold
iii. Yes, a 3D prototype will be fabricated
iv. There can be a variety of appropriate dress depending on the emphasis of the project. If the testing prototype is the main emphasis then a
lab coat would be appropriate. If the educational component is emphasized then appropriate dress would be business casual to appeal to
teachers who would be the target audience
v. Important points to be included in the presentation would be the importance of understanding risky behaviors which could lead to potential
HIV exposure, the importance of early testing if exposure is possible, detailed understanding of disease process, therapeutic protocols, and
analysis of impact of HIV/AIDS on people, economics, and the environment
vi Yes, I will create at least one brochure. In addition, I will have a wide range of published resource material from community support groups
vii Yes, I will have a website and a PowerPoint presentation. There will be a demonstration of the website highlighting the educational and
resource components and the new testing options available. The PowerPoint will present demographics, prevalence, disease and therapeutic
information, and educational resources

Thinking Ahead on PSA
1. KEY POINTS:
- What is HIV
- How it can be transferred
- The effects on the body
Educating the viewer is important to me by letting them know that the
spread of HIV/AIDS can be stopped with just a simple action.
2. AUDIO AND VISUAL:
- Children laughing and playing
- Some photos of what HIV/AIDS can do the body
- Music in the background
- Facts
3. SAMPLE PSAs:
.
I chose these two videos because it shows how far the world has come from the origin of the epidemic to today. It shows what we used to believe and think and what we now hold to be true. I believe that we have to know what mistakes we might have made in the past in order to not repeat history.

Capstone Project Statement of Intent:
1. Education of adolescents and young adults about risky behavior which increases risk of contracting HIV. Increase awareness for the importance of early HIV testing. Create a HIV test using RNA instead of antibodies to decrease the window time and reduce the exposure of additional people.
2. This is important in an effort to reduce the transmission of HIV. Dallas County has the highest prevalence of HIV in Texas. Also, it encourages early detection so that early treatment can begin. This is critical to the individual, family, and community
3. Treatment and care of the HIV patient involves communication with the pharmacist to be sure that medications are at the correct dosage and to avoid drug interactions. As a pharmacist I will be assisting HIV/AIDS patients, as well as other people suffering from chronic diseases.
4. The project gives back to society by helping people stay healthy and to reduce the health care costs associated with treatment. In addition, the HIV patients can stay healthier and stay more productive in wor, in the community, and with family
5. People who are infected are detected earlier so that they can begin early treatment. Early detection also protects future people from becoming exposed to HIV. These goals will hep the patient, their family, and friends. From an economic status it will cost less money if fewer people become infected. Early treatment and keeping people HIV positive people health costs less than the more expensive treatments and hospitalizations. The environment will benefit because the new test will be constructed from recycled materials.
